Rune Jakobsen

We are happy to announce that Lieutenant General Rune Jakobsen will speak at NorSec 2019.

Lieutenant General Rune Jakobsen is Chief of the Norwegian Joint Headquarters (FOH).

At NorSec 2019 we welcome him to speak during the first session “NATOs International Role” under the headline “NATO-Exercises in the 21st century – Practical perspective from Trident Juncture”.

Jakobsen has a military education both from Norway and abroad. He began his military career at the Norwegian Army ROTC for the infantry of Southern Norway in 1980. He continued his military education by studying at the Military Academy of Linderud, Führungsakademie der Bundeswehr, Germany, and in 2007 he studied at the NATO Defense College in Roma.

Jakobsen has held several important positions prior to his position as Lieutenant General; from 2006-2007 he was the Dues Chief for the Norwegian Armed Forces in ISAF. In 2013 Jakobsen was appointed as the General Inspector for the Norwegian Army, and the same year he assumed the position as Chief Inspector. He has held his current position as Chief of the Norwegian Joint Headquarters (FOH) since 2015.
